Self Assessment

This brings me to self-assessment, as an individual and as part of a team. At the end of matches we discuss what did and didn’t go well, a self-assessment as individuals and as a team on what worked and what we can improve on. Through this our players learn how to take a step back and look at how the team works together and how as individuals working within that team, we can each make a difference in its success.

This is a useful tool to learn that we believe crosses over to many aspects of life, at school and in work. Of course everyone has made bad or wrong decisions sometime in their life, that is how we get experience, it’s how we are able to grow and move ahead, that is important to our success.

I hope by teaching the match principles to our players, they will learn skills that they can use to be successful as individuals and as a team on the pitch and in life. This is why I believe we are heading in the right direction with our Academy.
