About the trials
The European Football Academy will be running their yearly open trials for their Recreational, Development and Performance Teams on the 23rd and 24th June 2018, in South and North London, respectively.
Are you interested in playing for one of London’s leading football Academies with 5 locations across central London?
Do you want to be a better player and learn under some of our professional experienced Coaches from Portugal, England, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain and the U.S.?
Players who do NOT register online may turn up and participate in the June trial if free places are available for their age group on the day, but we do not guarantee this.
The June trials will be run for boys and girls aged 5 to 16 and is free of charge.
The South London Trials will be held on the 23rd June between 10am-12pm/2-6pm at Archbishop’s Park, Carlisle Lane, London, SE1 7LE,
The North London Trials will be held on the 24th June between 12-6pm at Market Road Football Pitches, Market Rd, London, N7 9PL.
48 hours before the trial day, we will contact the parents who registered online to send them the timings for each age group trial.
In our 3rd full year of operations we already had players signed to Premier League Clubs and players scouted for clubs such as Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur, Watford, Crystal Palace, Milwall, Queens Park Rangers, Norwich, and Barnet.
Selected players will be identified for a scholarship with EFA. EFA Scholarship Program includes 3 Tiers, the highest of which offers trials with professional clubs and sponsored International Tournaments. Click HERE to learn about our Scholarship Program.
We are not only about providing a player pathway to professional academies, we also cater for players of all abilities who want to be a part of a team and play competitive football or learn from our coaches and play in organised recreational matches. Whether you are playing Performance, Development or Recreational level football, we have a place for you in our teams.
What is the day about?
This is an opportunity for you to come along as a player and experience one of our exclusive training sessions and to play against the best players of the European Football Academy.
So, what if I just want to turn up to the June trial to try and get in the team?
That is fine, you just need to register your interest and turn up 20minutes before your scheduled trial time – there will be a warm up for each age group and you need to be signed in and ready to go, late comers will not be admitted… if it is important for you to be a part of a great club then being on time is part of that commitment, so these rules will be strictly adhered to avoid disruption of the trial.
What to expect on the day?
– Warming up
– Technical Development / Small sided games
What if I’m not sure about joining club and just want to check it out?
You will be offered 2 free weeks so you can come along and experience training and see if you enjoy it, if you decide you then want to join the club our coaches will make a decision based on your training sessions which team you will get the most benefit of being in.
You mention ‘Scholarships’, how do these work?
We provide a very limited number of scholarships to selected players within our Academy. These are tough to receive and even tougher to keep. Each year our Scholarship Players need to re-trial for their scholarship position. If a player receives a scholarship they will be put on a certain tier after which they move up or down depending on a variety of specific factors and benchmarks. One of the highlights of this program is the internships with a Professional Club – In the past 3 years this has been with Sporting Clube de Portugal that is the only football club in the history of football to have produced two Ballon D’Or winners, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Figo. The best players in the academy (scholarship and non-scholarship) will train and play with the Professional Academy with the chance of being scouted.
You mention ‘Agent Representation’, how does it work?
The best scholarship and non-scholarship players in the academy will be given the chance to be represented by an Intermediary who will officially represent them, with their best interests at heart and according to their profile as footballers, providing them with opportunities to be seen by different UK and/or International Professional Clubs.
Regarding these events, Nuno Coelho, Founder and Academy Director, said:
“We aim to establish partnerships with the best football academies in Europe, providing our players with the best opportunities to develop. We also want to support local communities by giving children the chance to benefit from a healthy life style and develop the kind of skills that will help them not just in football, but throughout their lives.”
Academy Director, Nuno Coelho
